The Ksamil Islands are relatively small, rocky islands located near the shore of the Ionian Sea, offering breathtaking views with turquoise blue waters. The flora of the islands features typical Mediterranean vegetation, known as maquis, which includes shrubs and trees like oak, laurel, bay laurel, and myrtle, all of which thrive well in the islands’ climate and terrain. In the coastal and shallow waters surrounding the islands, Posidonia oceanica and Cymodocea nodosa grow—marine plants that are vital for maintaining biodiversity in coastal areas and play a key role in protecting marine ecosystems from pollution and climate change.
